  • Doug Martin

    Our Chair, Doug Martin, is a Founder of the prominent consulting firm MartinJenkins and is one of New Zealand’s most experienced and respected advisers on approaches to improving the performance of public sector organisations. He is often called upon to review areas of government administration that have encountered difficulties at the policy or operational level. An example of this was Doug’s appointment by Cabinet as Crown Manager to Christchurch City Council to improve the performance of the Council’s consenting function following its loss of accreditation as a Building Consent Authority. Under Doug’s guidance, the Council regained its accreditation. Doug was also the Crown Negotiator for the historic pay equity settlement for care and support workers the aged care.

  • Peter Dow

    With 50 years of experience in diverse property roles across New Zealand and Hong Kong, Peter has contributed to significant initiatives for central and local government, a listed property company, and a major commercial developer over the past 15 years. He served on the Government’s housing company board (assets $30B+, 70,000 units) from 2013-2017. Over the past 3-4 years, Peter has focused on residential developments, also serving as a Body Corporate Chair or committee member for most of the past decade.

  • Geraldine Murphy

    Geraldine has been an apartment owner for 22 years. Geraldine has been a Chair of Inner City Wellington Residents Association (ICW) and now focuses on the impacts of the earthquake-prone building legislation on apartment buildings and insurance. She has a public policy background and worked in a number of government agencies. Geraldine’s role is as liaison with ICW, developing the database of apartment and contacts.

  • George Hooper

    Dr. RJ (George) Hooper, FIChemE, FEngNZ, CRSNZ, is a senior professional engineer in New Zealand, nationally recognised for expertise in engineering risk, natural hazards research, and risk management. Former Executive Director of the Centre for Advanced Engineering NZ (CAENZ), Commissioner of NZ Earthquake Commission (EQC), and Chair of EQC Research Foundation he played a pivotal role post-Canterbury Earthquakes, advising on immediate recovery needs, rebuilding efforts and insurance matters with an emphasis on loss estimation and reinsurance exposures. His extensive experience and informed risk perspective make him a valuable asset to the CoverWell team.
